What was your previous username? I'm pretty sure you're not "skies", no?

Enjoy,

Formerly swamprabbit. Never an active participant here. I do enjoy lurking when I visit though.

Well, thanks for stopping by and sharing that cool article. It took me a long time to get into phish myself. Not too keen on huge concert scenes anymore, but I do enjoy listening to the recordings. And I have a friend who is sure to hook me up with whatever Charlie releases.

Yeah. It was interesting to hear that he actually told the band he didn't "get it" only to later find out he did "get it."

I think what he says is that he sometimes gets it and sometimes doesn't.

I dunno, seems to me Charlie is going downhill. Not just Phish now, but replacing his Sponge Bob wear with iCarly?

(Kidding kidding.)

Btw that's a funny sign at Merriweather. It's cool there's actually an official plaque commemorating GD shows there (whodathunk?), but funny how it reads: "After that [eg the '85 Merriweather shows], the band began touring stadiums until the death of lead singer, Jerry Garcia in 1995."

Aside from the bad punctuation, "lead singer"? Um, OK. But somehow that makes me picture Jerry in Robert Plant attire.

Funny thing about that sign -

In 1990 the venue banned The Grateful Dead from playing there. Dennis McNally (the GD publicist) responded with "who cares, we haven't played there in 5 years and have no plans to return".

Why would they wait until 1990 to ban them? Wonder what the story is behind that. Local people were so unhappy that they pestered mgt for 5 years? Other venues were banning them and the mgt just felt like saying "yeah, well, us too"?

Well, I guess the band wins in the end. If anyone's keeping score.

I am so grateful that Jerry could play guitar. Thus no pictures exist of him in Robert Plant attire.
